The Civic has standard whiplash protection, which helps prevent whiplash injury for occupants.
Standard daytime running lights make the Civic more conspicuous (and arguably safer) on the road than the Focus.
The Civic's "Top Pick Plus" rating from the IIHS is more impressive than the Focus's "Top Pick" rating.
Consumer Reports estimates that the 2015 Civic will be 124% more reliable than the 2015 Focus.
With optional CVT, the Civic offers more versatility in terms of efficiency than the Focus, which doesn't offer CVT.
The Civic's front brake rotors are larger than the Focus's, which allow for improved stopping, as proven in brake tests facilitated by Car and Driver and Consumer Reports.
The Civic's turning circle is .5 feet tighter than the Focus's.
With 94.6 cubic feet of passenger space, the Civic distinguishes itself in comparison to the Focus, which only offers 90.7 cubic feet of passenger space.
1000 lbs. of towing capacity, a maintenance minder system, and standard Bluetooth are all nice extras offered by the Civic that the Focus doesn't offer.
Intellichoice estimates that the five-year ownership costs of a Civic are between $269 and $2644 less than the five-year ownership costs of the Focus.

Curious about how the 2014 Kia Sportage and 2014 Honda CR-V compare? Honda San Marcos, your San Marcos Honda dealer, is here with the information you're looking for! Here's the scoop on these two cars' safety and overall performance:
2014 Sportage vs. 2014 CR-V: Safety
In terms of safety, both the new Kia Sportage and the new Honda CR-V are considered top dogs in their class. Each was awarded an overall safety rating of 5 stars from the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA). However, the CR-V performed better in NHTSA front crash tests, earning 5-stars for occupant protection. The Sportage only received a 4-star rating for occupant protection in front crash tests. Additionally, 11,961 2014 Kia Sportages were recently recalled due to incorrect tire pressure information. The CR-V has not experienced any similar safety recalls.
2014 Sportage vs. 2014 CR-V: Overall Performance
The 2014 Kia Sportage and the 2014 CR-V are almost equally impressive when it comes to overall performance and reliability. In fact, J.D. Power and Associates ranked both among the top three crossovers in their Initial Quality Study. Nevertheless, the Honda CR-V still outranked the Sportage as the number one vehicle in the quality study. The Sportage was ranked second in its class in the study.
Both the Sportage and CR-V offer capable engines and exceptional fuel efficiency. The Kia crossover's 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine produces 182 horsepower, and the Honda's 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine produces a little bit more: 185 horsepower. The new CR-V's combined fuel economy of 26 mpg and the new Sportage's combined fuel economy of 23 mpg mean savings at the pump in either car, but the incredibly efficient CR-V will save you a little more.

Trying to figure out how the 2014 Honda Accord and 2014 Nissan Altima stack up against each other? Look no further! Honda of San Marcos is here to help! Here are some key things to know about these two cars in comparison to each other:
2014 Honda Accord Performance
2014 Accord models are equipped with a 2.4-liter, Earth Dreams 4-cylinder engine or a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine. Both engine options offer optimal combinations of fuel efficiency and power. The Accord’s 4-cylinder engine produces 185 horsepower, and its V-6 engine produces 278 horsepower. Both options allow the Accord to get an amazing highway fuel economy rating of 34 miles per gallon. (Based on 2014 EPA mileage ratings. Use for comparison purposes only. Your mileage will vary depending on driving conditions, how you drive and maintain your vehicle, battery-pack age/condition, and other factors).
Other performance specs like rear gas-charged shocks, computer-generated active noise cancellation, and a maintenance-free battery set the 2014 Accord apart. As a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle, the Accord also stands out as an eco-friendly leader in its class.
2014 Nissan Altima Performance
Although the 2014 Nissan Altima does offer things like automatic transmission and impressively large tires, it doesn’t offer quite as much as the Honda Accord in the performance department. The Altima does not come with rear gas-charged shocks, computer-generated active noise cancellation, or a maintenance-free battery, for instance. Additionally, the Altima’s available V-6 engine only produces 270 horsepower and only allows for an estimated highway fuel economy rating of 31 miles per gallon.
2014 Honda Accord Ergonomic Specs
Driving or riding in a 2014 Accord is comfortable and easy thanks to its ergonomic specs. Things like available memory seats, dual zone A/C, and available rear A/C vents maximize your comfort in the new Accord. Plus, features like light-sensitive automatic headlights and available speed-adaptive cruise control, which changes speed settings based on driving situations without a driver’s intervention, simplify the experience of driving the Accord.
2014 Nissan Altima Ergonomic Specs
The 2014 Altima offers around an inch more headroom and 2.5 inches more legroom than the 2014 Accord. However, the Altima doesn’t come with dual zone A/C or rear A/C vents (although it does have rear heating vents). Furthermore, the new Nissan lacks speed adaptive cruise control and light-sensitive headlights, which means more effort for drivers.

Honda San Marcos, your San Marcos and South Austin Honda dealer, is excited to announce that Honda is leading the pack in terms of fuel economy in 2014. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released a report indicating that Honda is the second most fuel-efficient carmaker in the U.S. market.
The average fuel economy of the 2014 Honda fleet is currently 27 miles per gallon. When you consider all of the shapes and sizes of Hondas, this is quite an incredible achievement. 2014 Honda Insight, Accord Hybrid, and Fit EV models are this year’s fuel-efficient leaders, but all new Hondas are built with attention to fuel consumption. Features like continuously variable transmission and Eco Assist, which allows drivers to monitor fuel use, allow new Hondas to save more gas than ever before.
Mazda is currently the most fuel-efficient car brand in the U.S. market, with an average combined fuel economy of 27.5 miles per gallon. That means Honda is just .5 miles per gallon away from the top spot. As the carmaker steps up its game even more over the next few years, it won’t be surprising if Hondas soon offer the best fuel economy ratings of all cars in the U.S.
The EPA has urged carmakers to reach a goal of 54.5 miles per gallon average fuel economy by 2025. We think this won’t be much of a challenge for Honda and look forward to Honda vehicles making use of even more eco-friendly advances in car technology.
Looking for a new car that doesn’t needlessly burn fuel? Schedule a test drive in one of the fuel-efficient models at Honda San Marcos!
