Posted by Jessica McFall on Mon, Sep 26, 2016 @ 09:17 PM

There are few things in this world that can compare to the feeling of owning a brand new car. As the 2017-year models roll into Honda of San Marcos, we can't help but want to relive that feeling over and over again! Lucky for you, you can take advantage of our 2017-year cars to have that feeling for yourself. We're anxious about one model in particular – the 2017 Honda Fit in San Marcos. This subcompact car packs a punch when it comes to features, and we can't wait to tell you about them!

Versatility

If there is one word to describe the 2017 Fit, it would be "versatile." The Fit can virtually transform from what looks like a vehicle on the smaller side to a cargo-packed vessel. A lot of this transformation has to do with the wonderful 2nd-row Magic Seat that gives you four modes to transform your Fit: Utility, Long, Tall and Refresh. With Utility Mode, you can get up to 52 cubic feet of cargo space. In Long Mode, you can transport long items like surfboards by folding down the rear and front passenger seats. Tall mode allows you to remove the headrests and fold seats to create more vertical space. And lastly, the front seats fold back and rear seats recline for Refresh Mode.

Technology

Honda is always taking its vehicles to the next level in technology. In fact, it's hard for other manufacturers to keep up! It's features like the available push start button, Honda LaneWatch, connected audio, Smart Entry, Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation, voice recognition, and multi-angle rearview camera that make this subcompact car cutting-edge. You won't find a more high-tech car on the road!

Safety

As Honda says, "Peace of Mind Included." Whether you're buying the Fit for yourself or a loved one, you are safe in the Fit. Features like the ACE™ Body Structure helps distribute frontal crash energy more evenly to protect occupants, the Vehicle Stability Assist™ that help adjust brake pressure and engine power, and the Daytime Running Lights so you're visible in any time of light that keep you and family protected.

Interested in the versatility, technology and safety of the 2017 Fit? Honda San Marcos personally invites you out to explore your 2017 Fit options in store by taking it for a spin!

Anticipating the 2017 Civic Hatchback in San Marcos!

Posted by Jessica McFall on Wed, Sep 14, 2016 @ 07:26 PM

What's powerful, spacious, stylish and high tech? That would be the newest member of the Honda line up – the 2017 Civic Hatchback in San Marcos! Although it hasn't hit our Honda San Marcos store just yet, we're incredibly excited to welcome this new Civic to our showroom. We bet you want to know what is in store with this new car. Let's check out some key details of the 2017 Civic Hatchback!

The turbocharged engine in the new Civic Hatchback is something you could only dream of in a hatchback of this size. The 1.5L 4-cylinder engine has an available 6-speed manual transmission and produces an impressive 174 horsepower. And while we haven't seen an official unveiling in America just yet, the debut of the Honda Civic Hatchback at the Geneva Auto Show showed a hatchback prototype that we should expect to be very similar to the U.S. model.

According to an article by caranddriver.com, "The styling of the new Civic hatch has a slightly more conventional four-door appearance than that of the current model… To our eyes, this may be the best-realized iteration of the 10th-generation Civic styling. The model has been on sale in sedan form since last fall and is just now being joined by the two-door coupe. In making a bigger-than-usual break with its predecessor in terms of engineering and design, the new version, Honda hopes, will recapture the Civic's mojo after a couple of milquetoast designs."

In addition to the new styling and power, the Civic Hatchback will also have the latest and greatest in the automotive technology like Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and an information display touch screen. . So, as you can already see, we have a lot to look forward to in the new 2017 Civic Hatchback in San Marcos! Keep checking back to see when we have the newest member of the 2017 Toyota line up in stock, or shop other new options at Honda of San Marcos!

While Honda of San Marcos loves all of our Honda cars, the Accord definitely steals the show in terms of sophistication, style and reliability. Back and better than ever, the 2017 Accord is a seasoned, all-American car that has been a family-favorite for 40 years now. What can you expect in this revamped Accord? Let's check it out!

State of the Art Technology

It's the inside that counts, and this Accord will not let you down. In fact, it will lift you up with the driver memory seats with two savable positions. The multi-information display with navigation will never lead you astray and will keep you from fumbling with the directions on your phone. Did we mention the leather accents in the hybrid? That's not a bad deal either! Other notable features are the push start button, dual climate control (we know how finicky the weather can be), HomeLink, ample console space and available front and rear heated seats. Comfort, convenience, and sophistication – the 2017 Accord Hybrid has it all.

Exquisite Styling

The Hybrid has a sleek exterior to match it's innovative and cutting-edge interior. The bold, angular lines make it stand out as a stylish vehicle with a touch of sportiness! A birds-eye view of the Accord will show the one-touch power moonroof that would be perfect for a warm, sunny Cincinnati day or to let in some cool air in the fall. This hybrid wouldn't be top-of-the line without bright LED taillights with special blue accent lighting for that extra touch. The Accord Hybrid is available in 8 beautiful color options for you to show your personality whether it’s a chic White Orchid Pearl or a shocking Vortex Blue Pearl.

Unbeatable MPG

Now, you are probably considering a hybrid vehicle for several reasons, but we're guessing that part of the reason is because of their historically impressive fuel economy. We're proud to say that the Accord really tops the charts with MPG! You'll be able to get 49 MPG* in the city and 47 MPG* on the highway in the 2017 Accord Hybrid, which really means you can make the trip last if you know what we mean! Saving money while saving the environment, we call that a win-win!

2017 Ridgeline vs. Chevy Colorado in San Marcos

Posted by Jessica McFall on Tue, Aug 30, 2016 @ 10:00 AM

Are you on the search for a new truck? You've landed on the right blog post because Honda San Marcos has some exciting new trucks in stock that are sure to capture your attention (and possibly heart)! You might have an idea of what you want, but today we invite you to clear your mind of everything you might think about that truck and focus on this comparison of the 2017 Ridgeline and the new Chevy Colorado in San Marcos. Who knows, you might just change your mind by the end!

Comfort and Technology.

The Ridgeling RTL-E has memory seats that activate different, customized positions for the driver. But memory seats aren't the only feature that the Colorado doesn't offer, it's the one-touch power windows, the push-start button, dual-zone AC, standard adaptive cruise control, standard Bluetooth wireless (Bluetooth costs extra on the Colorado), an in-bed trunk, a 115-volt electrical outlet, and rear AC vents (a must in Texas). With all of these features combined, you'll be significantly more comfortable in the Ridgeline.

Power and Performance.

The Honda truck's 280 horsepower V6 engine is refreshing as it's quite a bit faster than it's predecessor. The Chevy truck on the other hand touts only 200 horsepower and has the acceleration more of a mid-size care than SUV. Speaking of SUVs, the Ridgeline has the cabin-feel of the SUV being wider and favoring its cousin, the Honda Pilot. This is great news for those of you who plan to cart the family around in the new truck! The new Colorado is slightly larger than previous generations, but still feels narrow and cramped.

Safety.

The 2017 Ridgeline in San Antonio is takes more safety measures than does the Colorado. The Ridgeline (RTL-E/Black Edition) has standard Collision Mitigation Braking System, which warns the driver of a potential collision and will automatically brake if the driver doesn't react to alert. The Colorado offers a warning system, but not the automated braking feature that could potentially reduce the collision. The Ridgeline also offers a cross-path warning system and a 3D high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment that provides extra impact protection.

Sold on the Ridgeline? We thought you might be – the new 2017 Ridgeline outperforms the new Chevy Colorado in power, performance, technology and safety! We have a few in stock that would love to be taken for a test drive. Don't be a stranger, come on by Honda San Marcos today!

GMC Canyon or the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in San Marcos?

Posted by Jessica McFall on Mon, Aug 29, 2016 @ 04:10 PM

New trucks are all over San Marcos and with all new features and they're catching the attention of potential truck buyers everywhere. How much do you really know about these trucks? Well, if the answer is "not much" then you've landed on the right Honda San Marcos blog post because today we're looking in-depth at the GMC Canyon and the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in San Marcos. Which is the better truck for you? Let's take a look!

Let's start by talking fun stuff – features. The GMC Canyon has a hard time catching up to the new Ridgeline as it lacks several key features of the new Honda truck. The Ridgeline has memory seats that holds customized positions for up to two drivers, it has one-touch power windows, a push button start, a locking fuel door to prevent vandalism, automatic dimming high beam lights, heated steering wheel, dual zone AC, in-bed audio system and more. We could go on, but there are so many features the Canyon lacks, we'd run out of time!

As far as safety goes, you're better off with the Ridgeline in this aspect, too. The Ridgeline has a standard collision mitigation braking system, a cross-path warning system, and a 3-dimensional high-strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment for that extra measure of impact protection. Both trucks have standard airbags, rearview cameras and available all-wheel drive, but those extra safety features really make a difference with the Ridgeline!

Both have comparable fuel economy (Ridgeline 19 city/26 highway and Canyon 18 city/26 highway*) but the power on the Ridgeline definitely stands out. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline touts an incredible 280 horsepower – 80 more horsepower than the competition, the GMC Canyon. This will get you farther, faster with the Ridgeline's engine control system that can shut down half of the engine's cylinders to improve efficiency. Efficient and powerful? This truck is everything.

Could the 2017 Honda Ridgeline in San Marcos be a more obvious choice? We think not! The new Honda truck touts power, performance, style, and even a bit of luxury comfort features. If you agree that this is the truck for you, take this new Ridgeline for a spin at Honda San Marcos today!

2016 Dart vs. 2016 Civic in San Marcos

Posted by Jessica McFall on Thu, Jul 21, 2016 @ 09:44 PM

You've found yourself on the Honda San Marcos blog because you're exploring options for your next new car! The decision to buy a new car is a lot bigger than deciding what you're going to have for lunch today, so it should require a little more consideration and time. Lucky for you, we love educating our customers on new cars, and today is no different! We're looking at the good, bad and ugly of the 2016 Dart and the 2016 Civic in San Marcos in a quest to find out which one comes out on top. Let's go!

Fuel Economy

If fuel economy and efficiency is important to you, it's safer to go with the 2016 Civic in San Marcos. Both the Civic and Dart have 2.0 4. Cylinder/Manual transmissions in the most basic mode, but the Civic gets 27 city/40 hwy MPG while the Dart only gets 25 city/36 hwy MPG*. In addition to better fuel efficiency, the Civic doesn't require premium gas like the Dart, which can save you 20-55 cents/gallon.

Safety

The 2016 Honda Civic has a few more safety features than the 2016 Dodge Dart. For example, the Civic has vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors that alert the smart airbags in the Civic to deploy with different levels of force to protect passengers of different sizes. The Dart's airbags deploy at full force every time. The Civic also has optional Collision Mitigation Braking System and a lane departure warning system. The Dart doesn't have either of these as an option. Both vehicles have standard driver, passenger, side-impact, and side-impact head airbags.

Passenger and Cargo Space

Worried about space in a "compact car"? The Civic doesn't feel so compact with 39.3 inches of headroom in the front, and 37.1 in the rear seating area! Holding 5 passengers, the Civic has 97.8 cubic feet of cargo room and 15.1 cubic feet of cargo room. The Dart only has 13.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity, and its passenger volume is unlisted (which we can only assume means that it doesn't compare).

Misc. Features

We've said it before and we'll say it again – not all cars are created equal even if they are the same model year! In this case, the Civic is way ahead of the game in terms of technology and features. The Civic has front power windows, standards power locks (which the Dart has, but costs extra), standard power remote mirrors, standard Bluetooth wireless, standard HondaLink, available front heated seats, and so much more.

With better space, safety features, fuel efficiency and features, you can't beat the 2016 Civic in San Marcos. The Dart has some great offerings, but it just can't stand a chance next to the new Civic! Receive top customer service and test drive this new and improved Civic at Honda San Marcos today!
